SOME NICE IMAGES FROM ONGOING RESEARCH AND COLLABORATION
Highly Oriented Collagen films templated on glass substrates. Left: parallel aligned collagen fibrils - as in long-bone. Middle: crosswise aligned collagen layers mimicking the structure of cornea. Right: (semi) circular alignments are also possible. The highly oriented collagen films can be used, for example, as a coating in Petri dishes, as a growth mediator for bone growth and, after thorough testing, as a graft in wound healing, as skin replacement, as an artificial cornea and as a coating for implants.
